Cleaning Frequency

Most turbo cells should be inspected and cleaned every 3 months, or after 500 hours of operation. However, the frequency of cleaning depends on your water chemistry. Well-balanced water requires less frequent cleaning.

Effective Salt Cell Cleaning Instructions

1. Turn Off Power and Deactivate Pump: Ensure the system is powered off and the pump is deactivated.
2. Remove Calcium Deposits: For large and apparent deposits, use a high-pressure hose to clean.
3. Prepare the Solution: Mix a 4:1 solution of water to muriatic acid in a clean plastic container. IMPORTANT: Always add acid to water, not water to acid.
4. Secure and Fill: Tighten the salt cell to the Swimables Acid Cleaning Kit, placing the cord side down. Fill the salt cell with the solution and let it soak for 15 minutes. Repeat the process until the salt cell is clean.
5. Reinstall and Test: Install the salt cell inline. Press and hold the "Diagnostic" button for about three seconds until the "Inspect Cell" light starts flashing. Continue pressing until the light turns off.
